About the event
For those Ages 6+.
We will be participating in 4 weeks of nutrition classes through CCE Broome (Cornell Cooperative Extention). These classes are designed to educate participants with the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors necessary to improve their overall diet and nutritional well-being. We want to help you embrace nutrition to make healthier choices, get more physical activity, and stretch your food dollars. Please RSVP by September 1st.
Through these programs the goal is to:
- Increase the consumption of nutrient-dense fruits and vegetables, whole grains, lean meats, and low-fat dairy products
- Decrease sugar-sweetened beverage consumption
- Reduce the consumption of low-nutrient, high-energy dense foods containing large amounts of added sugars, salt, and saturated fats.
- Increase physical activity and reduce sedentary behaviors
- Improve food resource management skills
- Improve food preparation skills
- Increase access to affordable and nutritious foods designed to educate participants with the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors necessary to improve their overall diet and nutritional well-being. We want to help you embrace nutrition to make healthier choices, get more physical activity, and stretch your food dollars.
After completion of 4-classes, you will receive a certificate.
